Resource Provision

Applemore College is privileged to have an SpLD Resource Provision. This is a  specialist unit providing additional support for mainstream pupils with SpLD. It is a fully integrated part of the school where guidance and support is given to our dyslexic students enabling them to become independent and confident learners. The College has been successfully accredited with the Dyslexia Friendly Schools Award and this reflects the excellent whole staff training, awareness and Quality First teaching all students, and especially those having SpLD, receive.

We strongly believe that dyslexia is NOT a barrier to learning and we strive to support all our students in discovering the best way for them to progress. The Resource Provision can provide the support and guidance to enable pupils to gain a better understanding of their learning need and then help them develop strategies and methods to ensure they reach their potential.

Overall, our Resource Provision places your child at the centre of what we do. Great time and care is taken to not only support learning, but to encourage self-belief and a desire to achieve. We truly believe that our job is to provide the springboard from which your child can confidently launch in to life after Applemore College, taking a variety of strategies, skills and their brilliant minds with them.
