Careers Education & Guidance

We want every student to achieve their personal best and Careers Education and Guidance (CEIAG) has an important part to play in their success by helping them develop confidence in their own abilities and achieve their aspirations to become successful citizens in the workplace.

CEIAG at Applemore aims to help students to understand the world of learning and work and the range of opportunities available to them. Providing students with information about the skills and qualifications they need to succeed is a key focus of our careers programme, enabling them to make informed choices about their future.

Our CEIAG Programme is based upon The Gatsby Career Benchmarks and the Baker Clause.

The Baker Clause is a requirement the government places on schools which stipulates that they must allow colleges and training providers access to every student in years 8 - 13 to discuss non-academic routes that are available to them.

The Gatsby Benchmarks are the result of an international study to find the best practice in career guidance worldwide.
